Brownsville Baptist Church is a congregation with a rich local history dating back to 1825. Having the constitution of the church in conjunction with the establishment of Brownsville’s township, Brownsville Baptist has been regarded by many historians as the first church to be planted in Haywood County. Throughout her existence, God has sustained the mission and vision of BBC by instilling a deep commitment to local and global missions, evangelism, disciple-making, and biblical worship. These values have carried Brownsville Baptist from her inception into this contemporary context. Though the times have changed, our mission has not. We remain committed to the Great Commission (Mt. 28:18-20), as well as the Southern Baptist Convention and the Tennessee Baptist Convention. We believe in the Cooperative Program and are committed to do our part in sustaining the greatest missional strategy ever conceived.
